Boston has shown themselves to be undisputably one of the premier teams in the League, being at the top of the Eastern Division for five straight years, including two Championship appearances, along with easily having the best overall league record over a long period.

Unfortunately, in the most important statistic, number of Championships, the Blitz's total still sits at zero, definitely a troubling fact given their overall tremendous success. 2010 seemed as likely as any to be Boston's year, though it didn't start off that way as they were swept in Week One by their chief rivals, New York. But the team regrouped nicely and managed to not lose another match the rest of the year, enroute to another very strong regular season.

But despite impressively not losing again after their first week's troubles, a tied match ended up being their undoing, as the incredible 2010 Champion New England Nor'easters made good use of the draw odds granted them by their spectacular regular season and eliminated Boston in the Semifinals due to that advantage.

Even though their 2010 season will end up falling into the "wait until next year" category for the Blitz like so many previous ones, as usual Boston had every reason to be proud of themselves. IM Marc Esserman turned in an impressive perfect season and their top two players, GM Larry Christiansen and GM Eugene Perelshteyn, both played very well, winning some important games for the team. With so much strong firepower leading them, it seems clear that Boston's time will eventually come.
